[email protected] As a WA graduate, Ms.Dunn has returned to her alma mater to pass on the torch of knowledge to the next generation. She majored in Neuroscience & German at Wheaton College while pursuing her thesis research at Harvard Medical School. Ms.Dunn worked on science education programs at the United Nations and that's when she was infected with the travel bug! She then moved to Munich to research the neurogenetics of sleep and depression on a Fulbright Scholarship at the Max Planck Clinic. Ms.Dunn completed her graduate work in the Division of Biology & Medicine at Brown University and went on to serve as an Assistant Director for College Admission. Ms. Dunn also teaches Biochemistry at MIT where she has worked part-time for the past 6 years. She first started at MIT as a Lead STEM Academic Advisor for both MIT & Harvard students in Biology, Robotics, and Statistical Probability, and also advised 2 medical school students. More recently, she also holds the position of Instructor and Lead Instructional Advisor for the MIT Online Science, Technology, and Engineering Community |
Mrs.Hoffman jhoffman@westfordk12.us Mrs. Hoffman has been teaching Biology, Honors Biology and other life science electives for 10 years now, including Physical Science, Botany, Marine Science, Forensic Science and AP Environmental Science to name a few. As an Undergrad student she studied Molecular Biology and Equine Pre-Veterinary Medicine at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. While attending Otterbein she was active on the equestrian team, competing in 3 separate disciplines; Eventing, Dressage, and Huntseat. After completing her Undergraduate studies, she attained her teaching certification through Ashland University in Columbus, Ohio and a Master's Degree in Education through Fitchburg State. Mrs. Hoffman's passion for science started as a child with a strong love for nature and animals. It wasn't until a senior Biology class in High school that she realized her passion for Biology. While in college she took as many science elective courses as possible ranging from Immunology to Coral Reef Ecology, which afforded her the opportunity to spend a month in Belize researching coral reef ecosystems and visiting biological stations throughout the rainforest. Outside of school her hobbies include exploring nature with her husband and 2 young boys, spending time at Sebago Lake, ME with her family and taking care of her adopted pets, Willow - rescue puppy, Clem - a cage free bunny, her horse Tilly and donkey Dominic. . |
